CULDOON
Culdoon, our hillside home in the
National Park, at the gateway to the stunning coastal scenery of
Lynton and Lynmouth, and the romantic wilderness of
Exmoor.
Our accommodation, on the ground floor of Culdoon, is
comfortable, light and airy, and spacious. We have two double
rooms available, one en suite and the other with
adjacent private facility
BRATTON MILL
Bratton Mill, originally built in the
l7th century and recently restored, is a beautifully furnished,
idyllic, riverside hideaway. It is situated in a 28 acre wooded
valley adjacent to a former mill, tucked away below the
village of Bratton Fleming. The village has an excellent hostelry
and lies on Exmoor's western border, 8 miles from the regional
centre of Barnstaple.
BRENDON HOUSE HOTEL
This charming 18th Century country
house nestles in the tranquil and very beautiful valley of the
East Lyn River, in the heart of Lorna Doone Country. Very
comfortable accommodation all rooms having beautiful Exmoor
views.
THE STAGHUNTERS
Situated on the banks of the East Lyn in
the picturesque village of Brendon, The Staghunters offers
comfortable en suite accommodation, home-made locally
sourced food and real ales in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
The Staghunters is in the ideal location for walking, riding,
fishing, shooting and hunting. With its valleys, moorland,
coastline and array of wildlife, including the magnificent Red
Deer, Exmoor is easily accessible from The Staghunters.
THE ROCKFORD INN
The Rockford Inn sits beside the East Lyn River which flows through the beautiful and tranquil Brendon Valley in Exmoor National Park. The rural public house dates back to the 17th century and provides a cosy and convivial atmosphere in which to relax. Its a traditional North Devon country pub popular with local farmers, ramblers and fishermen set in an isolated and remote hamlet. We offer excellent home cooked seasonal foods, local brewed real ales and comfortable accommodation in which to stay, where we offer half board and full board.
You can sit by the river, enjoy a pint as you watch herons stalk young salmon and trout, as well as the odd unfortunate frog. The sound of rushing water over the rocky rapids provides a tranquillity to behold. After we have locked up and retired the guests to bed the only sounds you will hear are the peaceful, tinkling waterfalls and the hooting of owls in the woods.
MEADPOOL HOUSE
Situated in a peaceful
location on the banks of the East Lyn River, Meadpool House
provides very comfortable B&B accommodation, all rooms having
glorious Exmoor views.
You are assured of a warm welcome. Relax and unwind in our
guests' lounge, or in our beautiful gardens beside the river, and
enjoy a pot of tea or coffee and homemade cake on your
arrival.
COOMBE FARM
Coombe Farm is a 17th century stone built
working farm in the heart of Exmoor. It is set in a elevated
position with commanding views over the Brendon Valley. Our
centrally heated house with the addition of a woodburner in the
lounge ensures your comfort in the early spring or late
autumn.
We are an ideal base for
exploring Exmoor either on foot, by car or on
horseback.
WINSBERE HOUSE
We have comfortable rooms and a friendly, relaxed atmosphere
together with a superb full English breakfast served in our
delightful dining room - just right for a day of walking, riding,
fishing, cycling or just exploring the lots of hidden places by
car. Winsbere is surrounded by pretty gardens and there is ample
parking, plus a lockup garage for cyclists (route 3, `West
Country Way`). All rooms are tastefully decorated with lovely
country views.
YARN MARKET HOTEL
Our Hotel is situated in
the beautiful Village of Dunster, within the Exmoor National
Park. In the picture left, the hotel is the large white building
on the right, with the ancient Yarn Market in the foreground
directly in front of the Hotel. At the end of the street you can
see the imposing Dunster Castle.
Ideal for Walking, Cycling, Horse Riding and many other
country pursuits with many walks available from our doorstep so
you can park up and forget your car if you wish. Our friendly
staff, many who have worked here for several years, enjoy seeing
so many regular faces and love to add a ‘new’ face to the regular
ones.
STOCKLEIGH LODGE
Stockleigh
Lodge is situated on the outskirts of the village of Exford, which is the centre
of the Exmoor National Park, one of only three remaining parts of Great Britain
known for its peace and tranquillity.
Stockleigh Lodge is over 110 years old and has been a Bed and Breakfast
establishment for over thirty years.
BEACHBOROUGH
Hidden away in the village of Kentisbury on the edge of Exmoor
National Park is Beachborough. A grade II listed old Georgian
rectory set in 4 acres of gardens and woodlands, bordered by its own
stream. Perfect for private parties, self-indulgent walkers or
anyone simply wanting to get away. The feel is 'country house',
mixed style with informality, flag stoned floors, marble fireplaces,
huge sash windows with shutters rather than curtains.
KENTISBURY MILL
Three miles from the
coast, nestling in the North Devon hills and 2 acres of gardens
is the 18th century Kentisbury Mill where you will receive a warm
welcome from Gail and Jim Evans. Starting at the old mill leat,
gently sloping lawns lead down to a pond and Exmoor stream and
summerhouse where guests can relax and unwind.
ROSEHILL BARN
If you want a really
relaxing and quiet stay in lovely surroundings, consider Rosehill
Barn, hidden away in a superbly beautiful corner of North Devon,
set in rolling countryside and overlooking a wooded valley. This
newly restored barn lies in the grounds of Hill, a 15th century,
Grade II* Open Hall House. Hill is the oldest house in the hamlet
in Loxhore, some seven miles from Barnstaple and close to
Exmoor.
MANNACOTT FARM
Mannacott Farm is
situated 1 mile from the hamlet of Martinhoe with lovely views
towards Trentishoe Down. It is situated in an ideal walking area
close to the South West coast path and unspoilt Heddon's Mouth.
Bar meals are available at the Hunters Inn ½ mile away.
HIGHER BODLEY FARM
Higher Bodley is a working hill
farm, set in the foothills of Exmoor at the top of the Heddon
Valley with easy access from the A.39 Higher Bodley is the
perfect base for exploring the wonders of Exmoor and the
beautiful coastline of North Devon, either by car, walking
cycling or riding. There are signed footpaths from the farm
leading to the moor, and bridle ways for that perfect country
riding, an added plus being the farm is only a ten minute walk to
the local gastro pub.
THE COIGN
The large twin bedded room is
tastefully decorated with matching furnishings. You can relax and watch TV on
the comfortable sofa. Our beds are made up with duck down duvets and the goose
feather pillows for you to snuggle down into. The superb south facing view
over-looks the Exmoor hills and beyond. The room has its very own access through
a patio door with parking right outside and although the bathroom is not
en-suite, it is just over the hall and is for the exclusive use of our guests.
The room is equipped with a flat screen television with freeview and we also
offer a free broadband connection along with complimentary high quality tea and
coffee making facilities.
THE HUNTERS INN
The Hunters' Inn has immense charm and
character and holds pride of place in the stunning Heddon Valley,
an ideal base from which to explore the wild beauty of Exmoor and
the North Devon coastline. Situated in over four acres of
landscaped gardens, bordered by the River Heddon, the Inn is just
a one mile walk away from the sea at Haddon’s Mouth and adjacent
to one of the most impressive parts of the South West coast path.
In addition there are many circular walks that allow you to
appreciate the locality and its abundance of wildlife, including
deer.
MOORLANDS HOTEL
Moorlands, a late 19th century
gentleman's residence, was built by the late Colonel Lake and
later opened as the Station Hotel serving customers on the old
narrow gauge railway from Lynton to Barnstaple. The old house now
sits in private grounds of some 6 acres of garden surrounded by
Exmoor countryside. More recent additions include a residents bar
and an outdoor swimming pool, making Moorlands the perfect place
to enjoy a relaxing and quiet break, away from the hustle and
bustle of town life.
THE FOX AND GOOSE

The pub now offers newly renovated and refurbished accommodation across two

Myrtle Cottage guest house is a thatched early 16th century dwelling
situated in Porlock a stroll from the sea, at the foot of Exmoor.

the well known parts of Exmoor and its surrounding coast. Just 7
miles will take you to the stunning beauty of Watersmeet on the
East Lyn river or follow the road further into Lynmouth with the
cliff side railway connecting the town to Lynton. From here you
can walk easily to the Valley of the Rocks or you can go further
to Woody Bay Heddon's Mouth and the infamous Hunters Inn.
Alternatively the coastal resorts of Minehead, Ilfracombe and
Croyde Bay are all within a short drive.
