Bratton Mill, originally built in the
l7th century and recently restored, is a beautifully furnished,
idyllic, riverside hideaway. It is situated in a 28 acre wooded
valley adjacent to a former mill, tucked away below the
village of Bratton Fleming. The village has an excellent hostelry
and lies on Exmoor's western border, 8 miles from the regional
centre of Barnstaple.
Whether you choose the self catering cottage or bed and breakfast in the farmhouse, you can be assured of peace and seclusion and a warm welcome where your comfort is paramount.
In winter, enjoy a memorable candlelit dinner by a log fire and in summer breakfast by the river. The kitchen uses the finest local ingredients.
Time has stood still at
Bratton Mill. Fresh flowers, white embroidered bed linen, home
made cooking, natural spring water, free range hens, Aylesbury
and Khaki Campbell ducks roam around, children have space and
freedom to explore and mobile phones have no reception!
Horse riding, shooting, fishing and golf can be arranged locally and the dramatic North Devon beaches are close by. A birdwatcher's and wildlife paradise.
From the Visitors' Book:
"Superb cooking"
"Rarely is expectation matched by realisation. Spot on!"
For the outdoor enthusiast there are wild brown trout in the river, miles of walks, rides and cycling from the front door through outstanding scenery. Stabling and grazing are available. Dogs and children are welcome.
