This site is an independent guide to Lynton, Lynmouth and the surrounding part of Exmoor. It is not run by a tourist board, a hotel or a booking agency, and it does not take bookings or hold availability for any property.

What to write about

• Corrections. If something here is out of date or wrong, please say so. Opening seasons, footpath conditions and access arrangements change, and the pages are updated when they do.
• Additions. Walks, viewpoints and practical detail that would help another visitor.
• Questions. If the answer would be useful to other people it usually ends up on the relevant page.

What we cannot help with

Bookings, availability and prices are matters for the individual properties, which set and change them. The pages on where to stay explain the kinds of accommodation and what to ask about, but any reservation is made directly with the owner or through whichever platform they use.

The same applies to the cliff railway, whose fares and running times are set by the operating company, and to boat sailings, which are weather-dependent and confirmed by the operator on the day.

Before you write

A good deal of what people ask is already covered. Getting here deals with roads, buses and the nearest station. Checking conditions covers weather, tides and river levels. Walking lists the routes with distances and difficulty, and all pages lists everything on the site in one place.
