This is a static guide. It collects as little as it can and stores nothing about you on this site.
What this site collects
These pages are served as static files. There is no account system, no comment system and no user database. Nothing you do while reading is stored on this site.
Server logs
Like any website, the server that delivers these pages records ordinary technical information about requests - the address requested, the time, the response, the browser identification string and the network address the request came from. This is kept for a short period for security and to diagnose faults, and it is not used to build a profile of individual readers.
Forms
The sign-up field in the page footer sends you to the contact page. It does not add you to any list by itself and no address is stored on this site.
If you write to us
Correspondence is used to answer the thing you wrote about and nothing else. It is not passed to anyone, and it is not used to send you unrelated material.
Third parties
Fonts, styles and scripts are served from this site rather than from an external network, so loading a page does not report your visit to an advertising or analytics company.
There is one exception, and it is deliberate. The current-conditions figure in the planning panel on the home page is fetched by your browser from the Open-Meteo weather service when that page loads. That request reaches Open-Meteo with the coordinates of Lynmouth and your network address, in the ordinary way any web request does. No identifier is attached to it, nothing is stored here, and if the request fails the page simply shows no figure. Open-Meteo publishes its own privacy terms.
Where a page links out to another organisation - an accommodation provider, a transport operator, a national body - that site has its own policy and its own practices, and this one does not apply there.
Your rights
Under United Kingdom data protection law you may ask what personal data is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, and ask for it to be erased. Given the above, the answer in almost every case is that there is nothing beyond any correspondence you have sent. Requests can be made through the contact page.
Changes
If this policy changes, the revised version replaces this one on this page.
